Conference Objectives

  1. Address key issues related to equity, equality and empowerment in health - rural-urban, male-female, rich-poor, haves - have-nots.
  2. To promote dialogue amongst rural health workers, government, NGOs, UN agencies, national/ international funding agencies and other stakeholders for finding solutions on health issues with special emphasis on equity, equality and empowerment
  3. Provide delegates with opportunities to contribute to an Action Plan for "National Rural Health and Development Policy"
  4. Highlight and foster opportunities for innovative, comprehensive, participatory rural health models that can be replicated.
  5. Launch national initiative on "Healthy Villages" and National Network on Rural Health and Gender Justice.
