NEP 2020
PIMS-DU has effectively adopted the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, setting a pioneering example with its commitment to a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to education. The curriculum is designed to balance theoretical knowledge with practical application, offering a variety of mandatory and elective courses, internships, field projects, and community engagement opportunities. The implementation of the NEP was effected after undergoing thorough deliberations on it by key governing bodies, including the Board of Studies (BoS), Academic Council, and Executive Council.
NEP 2020 envisions transforming India into a global knowledge superpower, ensuring that every student gains the education and skills needed to thrive in the modern world. The university, besides using conventional teaching methods, facilitates it using modern learning methods, furnishing the online courses from platforms like NPTEL/SWAYAM that enhance accessibility and knowledge base.
To ensure a more enriching and flexible academic experience, the university has successfully integrated the SWAYAM system into its academic framework, enabling students to enroll for online courses that complement their regular curriculum.
NEP SAARTHI (Student Ambassador for Academic Reforms in Transforming Higher Education in India) is a visionary initiative launched by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It recognizes students as the key stakeholders in the education system. PIMS-DU has nominated NEP SAARTHIs.
PIMS-DU’s dedication to inclusive, flexible, and holistic education aligned with the core principles of the NEP positions the institution as a forward-thinking leader in shaping well-rounded global citizens while preserving their cultural values and fostering ethical development.
